Have been salmon fishing in Manistee for about a week now. We found out before going up there that the Indians moved their nets again...along every single spot that we caught fish last year (of course). So we've been having to go north of the lighthouse...up into the '15s-'17s on the GPS. Still on the shelf though, everyone's been talking about catching them in close but we've never had a whole lot of luck in less than maybe 70ft of water. Everything's been off of Dipsy Diver's so far, with spin doctor/glow squid combos or SuperGlow spoons, about 175ft back. had triples on two days ago, managed to get all three in. Luckily there were three of us in the boat or things really would have gotten hairy, lol. Gotta go out at about 5am to get set up for "Magic Hour" in the morning...right around 530 or 6, just as the sun is rising, and then again at night right as the sun dips below the horizon. Been a lot of fun so far...will be up here through labor day weekend, so more updates will be on their way as they come.
